Genealogical Society Book Club began in January, 2022. The first books we read were genealogical crime mysteries written by Nathan Dylan Goodwin, and we still continue to read them. We are expanding our reading to other books including non-fiction books.

In 2023, the TLGS Book Club recommends books for at-home reading. We don’t meet in person but we wish to recommend a book for your enjoyment every month. The books are available at Demmer Memorial Library in Three Lakes, Walter E. Olson Memorial Library in Eagle River, Amazon.com and/or Kindle. Be sure to check the libraries first; the often have interlibrary loans.

The books recommended for 2023 are:
January – The Wicked Trade by Nathan Dylan Goodwin
February - The Whole Town’s Talking by Fanny Flagg
March - Ladies of the Lights: Michigan Women in the U.S. Lighthouse Service by Patricia Majher
April – The Sterling Affair by Nathan Dylan Goodwin
May – Badger Boneyards: the eternal rest of the story by Dennis McCann
June – In the Blood by Steve Robinson
July – Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline
August – It’s All Relative: Adventures Up and Down the World’s Family Tree by A. J. Jacobs
September – The Foundlings by Nathan Dylan Goodwin
October – Mining for Justice by Kathleen Ernst
November – The Ghost Army of World War II by Rick Beyer and Elizabeth Sayles
December – Read your favorite Holiday books!

We hope you enjoy your reading! Let us know of any suggestions for future years.
