The Three Lakes Genealogical Society offers a Beginning Genealogy Class for Genealogy “newbies.” In addition, for those of you with some genealogical knowledge, the class also serves as an opportunity to fine-tune those skills. This class will explain, demonstrate, and provide practice in doing basic genealogy research. It will begin with the basics of sound research practices, discuss where to look for genealogical evidence, and take you to different types of genealogical websites. Research charts, documentation, and organization will be covered. Genealogical software, online subscription options, and numerous free websites will be discussed. Guided support for researching and building your tree will be provided. Participants should bring a laptop or tablet to participate in online searches. The next session will run 10 a.m. to noon on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of January through April (8 sessions) at the Demmer Memorial Library. Please contact the instructor, Dottie Winger, with questions at dwinger67@yahoo.com. E-Mail Us Three Lakes Genealogical Society P O Box 101 Three Lakes, WI 54562 2024 TLGS |
