  Audrey G. Winquist, age 83, of Rhinelander, died on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 2, 1928, in Sugar Camp to Ira and Freida (Tomack) Basch. Audrey went to grade school in Sugar Camp and graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1946. She married Ray Winquist on May 15, 1947, in Rhinelander. Audrey worked as the first crossing guard at Lincoln Street and Oneida Avenue from 1959 to 1962, and at J.C. Penney from 1946 to 1958. She also worked for Dr. Rohloff's Chiropractic Office from 1962 to 1968, then at the U.S. Post Office from 1968 until 1992, when she retired. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer and also on the communion committee. She enjoyed making wedding cakes, playing golf, working in her flower garden, knitting and traveling. Audrey is survived by her daughter, Susan (James) Storma of Rhinelander; her son, Mark (Sue) Winquist of Camarillo, Calif.; her grandchildren, Kevin Storma and Cheryl (Charles) Falconberry, Liz and Miles England; and her great-grandchildren, Gavin, Garrett and Gage. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray in 1996; a granddaughter, Karla; her brother, Clint; and her sisters, Lela Sackett and Lila Basch.
