Angeline "Angie" Piasecki, age 93 of Rhinelander, died on Monday, April 16, 2012, at Taylor Park. She was born on February 11, 1919, in Three Lakes, Wisconsin to Antone and Gertrude (Nitzel) Karwoski.
Angie married August Piasecki on August 21, 1937, in Sugar Camp and he preceded her in death on January 29, 1985. She was employed for many years at St. Mary's Hospital in the housekeeping department.
Angie was a member of Nativity/St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a volunteer with Special Olympics and taught religion classes with those with special needs. She also volunteered many years at Taylor Park and was a foster mother to Kris for 25 years. Angie loved to travel, go camping, swimming, cross country skiing, and square dancing.
Angie is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Jim) Shaver of Merrill; three sons, Jerome Piasecki of Tomah, WI, James Piasecki of Sugar Camp, and Edwin (Peggy) Piasecki of Rhinelander; a sister, Eileen Hintz of Merrill; twelve grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
A memorial mass for Angie will be offered at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012, at Nativity of Our Lord / St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Jim Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of mass on Friday at the church. Carlson Funeral Home is assisting Angie's family with arrangements.
The family extends special thanks to long time neighbors, Richard and Rose Johns and the staffs of Josephine Haus and Taylor Park Memory Unit for the care and support they provided to Angie.
