He was born in 1880 in Poland and came to the United States at the age of 19, He settled in Oneida County about twenty years ago and established residence in Three Lakes. He was not married. Survivors include a brother, Edmund of Cumberland; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Stella Levandoski, of Three Lakes. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Three Lakes Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Three Lakes Catholic cemetery. Friends may call at Hildebrand's Funeral Home this afternoon and tonight. 655 | Jon Edward Firpach, 77, passed away at 2:35 a.m. on Sunday November 11, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. Jon was born on January 17, 1941 in Chicago, IL; son of John Joseph and Margerite (Rychlock) Firpach. He married Charlotte McCabe on May 26, 1961 in Worth. She survives him. Also surviving Jon are his children: Bonnie Firpach of Chicago, Desiree Firpach-Boss of Olympia Fields, Cheryl (Michael) Pearce of Middletown and Jon E. Firpach of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Edward Vogt. Jon proudly served in the United States Army from 1958-1961. He was an avid model train, railroad, and car enthusiast. He also enjoyed traveling and was a history buff. 661 | June 15, 1912 - August 25, 2016 Pearl I. Schertz, age 104, of Tigerton passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Homme Home of Wittenberg. Pearl Isabel Schertz was born on June 15, 1912 in Tigerton to the late Frank and Nell (Jolin) Schertz. Pearl grew up on the family dairy farm where she lived for much of her life. For many years she lived with her brother, Arthur, and helped out with the farm chores. Pearl was a lifelong member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Tigerton. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Crazy Eights, and will be remembered most for her strong work ethic and her deep faith. Survivors include numerous cousins, many other relatives, and friends. Pearl is preceded in death by her brother, Arthur. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 31st at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Tigerton. Fr. Jose Castaneda will officiate and burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of mass at the church. 664 | Kathryn M. Godding Godding, Kathryn “Kay” M. age 72, of Rhinelander, died Friday, December 18, 2009, at Taylor Park Nursing Home in the loving care of Ministry Hospice. She was born March 31, 1937 in Rhinelander, the daughter of Will and Gwen (Kirk) Garnich. Kay married Fred Godding on November 2, 1963 in Eagle River, and the couple moved to Rhinelander in 1964. Kay worked for many years as an x-ray technician at Eagle River Memorial Hospital, and she later worked for Petersen Health Care. She is survived by her husband, Fred, Rhinelander, a son, Fred M. (Lenore) Godding, Madison, two daughters, Karla M. (Allen) Crowell, and Kim (Dan) Chagnon, all of Rhinelander, a sister, Sybil Saltenberger, Eagle River, five grandchildren, Jessica Chagnon, Monty Cortright, Nathan Cortright, Abby (Luke) Pearson, and Tucker Cortright; one great-grandchild, Sophia Pearson, and extended family and friends. 665 | Kenneth J. Cannon, 50, 2305 E Main St, Merrill, died on Sunday, August 4, 1974 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. Cannon, who recently received a kidney transplant has been ill for the past five years. Mr. Cannon was born on March 15, 1924, the son of Mr and Mrs. John Cannon of Merrill. On June 29, 1946 he was married to Kathleen Karowski, she survives. He trained nurses on the dialysis machines at the Veteran's Hospital in Madison. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the VFW, Legion, Social and Sick and DAV. Survivors besides his wife and parents include three daughters, Mrs Gloria Gustavson, Schofield, Mrs Nadine Wolf of Wausau and Deborah at home; two sons, Keith of Rothschild and Anthony at home; two brothers Edward of Merrill and Duane of Waupaca; two sisters Mrs George Schneider and Mrs Alvin Krueger both of Merrill along with four grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Wednesday July 7, 1974 at St. Robert's Catholic Church in Merrill. The Rev. 680 | Leona M. Moes Brown formerly of Rhinelander, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Friendly Village with her family at her side at the age of 95. Leona was born in Birnamwood, Wisconsin on December 25, 1920, to Louis and Helena (Reissman) Behn. She attended a one room school house in Aniwa. Leona moved to Rhinelander at the age of fifteen where she lived with an uncle. She was employed at a small restaurant on Brown Street in Rhinelander. Leona was united in marriage to Bernard James Moes at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on February 22, 1941. The couple would have six children raising them in a home on Margaret Street. In 1944 Leona and Bernard purchased the Waffle Shop in downtown Rhinelander which became known as Bernie’s Waffle Shop. They owned this business until 1969 when Leona’s husband Bernard passed away. On May 19, 1973, Leona was united in marriage to Clifford Brown. Leona was employed as a Nurse’s Aide at St. Mary’s Hospital and later was employed by the Rhinelander School District working in the cafeteria. Leona enjoyed fishing, traveling, bowling, snowmobiling, playing bingo, and traveling on cruises. Leona loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and took great pride in all of her family’s accomplishments. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Snow Bunnies Snowmobiling Club and had been a member of a bowling league. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Bernard Moes on September 11, 1969, and Clifford Brown on April 22, 2008, two sons; Gary Moes on April 9, 1961, Robert “Screamin Bob” Moes on November 21, 2002, step-daughter; Tonya Brown in 1973, step-son; Jeffery Brown in 1968 and son-in-law; Thomas Kinnaird in 2011. 683 | Louis John "Pete" Raubenheimer, 65, passed away June 10, 2008 after a courageous 18 month battle with prostate cancer. Pete was born Sept 7, 1942 in Phoenix to Bette and Lou Raubenheimer. He attended North High School and graduated with a degree in business from the University of Arizona where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. After college he served 3 years in the US Army and was awarded a Bronze Star for his tour of duty in Vietnam. Pete spent the next 32 years in sales with the Lipton Food Company where he was highly respected for his business and marketing skills. After retiring from Lipton he became the National Field Coordinator for Lawry's Foods. Pete loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and took great joy in sharing his knowledge with his family, friends and coworkers. Always an incredibly sensitive gentleman, he proved daily that "chivalry is not dead". Pete will be enormously missed by his family: His wife, Daryl Ann Perlman; Stacy and Kevin Parker, Keegan and Hayden; London Raubenheimer and Gracie; Alan and Chani Perlman; Kari and Don Workman, Zachary, Alex and Halee; Michael and Susan Perlman; Aunt Dorothy Neely; Roxy and Don Fronko. Graveside services will be held Friday, June 13, 2008 at 10:30 am at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek, Phoenix.
