Notes: Wanda arrived in Marion County, West Virginia from the Russian-controlled part of Poland with two of her sisters in 1896. She joined her parents and other siblings who had arrived earlier and were living in Grant District. Just prior to 1900, she married the first of four, or possibly five, husbands. Family lore says she lost three of them in mine accidents; records exist that confirm two of them as mining-related. She had children by three of them, Jan Heiner, John Costic and John Bartoszek (Bartoshek). She resided in Marion County from her arrival until her death in 1955. She lived in the communities of Grant, Lincoln and lastly in Monongah. She is buried in the Polish part of the cemetery. |
