    Notes:

    Wanda arrived in Marion County, West Virginia from the Russian-controlled part of Poland with two of her sisters in 1896. She joined her parents and other siblings who had arrived earlier and were living in Grant District. Just prior to 1900, she married the first of four, or possibly five, husbands. Family lore says she lost three of them in mine accidents; records exist that confirm two of them as mining-related. She had children by three of them, Jan Heiner, John Costic and John Bartoszek (Bartoshek). She resided in Marion County from her arrival until her death in 1955. She lived in the communities of Grant, Lincoln and lastly in Monongah. She is buried in the Polish part of the cemetery.

    Obituary: Mrs. Wanda Bartoshek, 73' of Monongah, died in her home yesterday at 4:30 p.m. She was born in Three Lakes, Wis. She is survived by the following children: Edward Costic of Newton Falls, Ohio; Edmund Costic, Mrs. Genevieve Coen, and Leonard Bartoshek, all of Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. Stanley Urban of Monongah and Mrs. Carrie James, of Fairmont. There are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Monongah and the Holy Rosary Society.     Son of John and Josie (Pindkowski) Lewandowski

    The funeral services of John Lewandoski were held in the Catholic church on last Friday. He had died the day upon which he was transferred to the hospital and when he was considered much better. Acute asthma was the direct cause of his death, although other complications set in and hastened the end. Mr. Lewandoski came here to his farm in Three Lakes some fifteen years ago from the state of Pennsylvania. The New North, 11 Nov 1915, p. 1
