Notes: Dewey attended Beloit schools and Notre Dame University. He was a plant engineer for Fairbanks Morse and CO. He was a corporator, trustee and menber of the board of the Beloit Savings Bank. Also a Past Grand Knight, Past Faithful Knight and member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of American Legion Post 48, Elks Club, Sierra Club, American Society of Safety Engineers, He served in WWI in the Navy and received the Ralston Purina Hero Medal in 1915.

Notes: He was quite a successful non-professional baseball pitcher, having pitched for the Beloit College team and also for several local Beloit, WI teams, including the Line City Baseball team. He rejected an offer to play for the Milwaukee AAA team. He entered the postal service in 1896 and rose from clerk to assistant postmaster and later postmaster. He was very interested in bowling and was the first president of the Beloit Bowling Association League. In 1974 he was inducted into the Beloit Bowling Hall of Fame. He was on the Board of Education and was a corporator of the Beloit Savings Bank. He was a trustee for St. Thomas and St. Paul Catholic Churches and was cited by Archbishop Stritch of Milwaukee for his service to St. Paul's Catholic Church, Beloit, WI. He married Nora Finn (Phinn), (9/3/1865-1937), on 9/10/1895 in Milwaukee, WI. Nora, the daughter of Daniel Finn and Mary MacDonell, was christened Honora, and born in East Troy, WI. Lorenzo and Nora are buried in Calvary Cem., Beloit, WI. Lorenzo married PHINN, HONORA on 10 Sep 1895.
