Rev. Walter M. Meacham, 85, died Thursday, January 29, 2004 at Regency Place in Fort Wayne. Born in Downing, WI, he was a previous member of North Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church serving at Uniondale, Larwill and Monroeville and member of South Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church serving Fishers, Rosedale Hills and the Conference office where he retired.
Survivors include wife, Rebecca of Fort Wayne; daughters, Beverly (Jack) Brunson of Fort Wayne and Marietta (Dr. Joseph C.) Wolfe of Martinsville, IN; son, Walter T. of Indianapolis, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Francis Chandler of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Margaret Buxton of Belflower, CA, Connie Hurtgen of Downing, WI and Anne Ohman of Glenwood City, WI; one brother, Clinton Meacham of Downing, WI; preceded in death by two brothers, Leo & Dean. Services 11 am Saturday with calling one hour prior at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Calling 4 to 8pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial in Mound Cemetery, Downing, WI. Memorials to Southern IN UMC Camp, New Haven UMC or Downing UMC.
