Notes:
Dorothy E. Reiser, age 97, died on Friday, May 23, 2014, after a brief illness.
She was born on Jan. 21, 1917 in Crandon. The family later moved to the Rhinelander area when her father became the tender of the Hat Rapids Dam. She grew up in the town of Crescent where all the members of the family were avid participants in the life of the community. Dorothy's primary focus was always her family. After the death of her parents, she became the matriarch of the extended family. That meant keeping treasured traditions alive, sharing favorite family recipes and nurturing loving relationships. An avid reader and enthusiastic life-long learner, Dorothy graced many conversations with her humor and hard-won wisdom. She will be sorely missed.
Dorothy was a faithful and lifelong member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish where she participated in various women's groups throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Max; her sister, Beatrice Ek; her two brothers, Raymond and Edward Biermeier; and her grandson, Jeffrey.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara of Baileys Harbor and Ruth "Annie "of Three Lakes; three granddaughters, Catherine, Mary and Jennifer; six great-grandchildren, Casey, Helen, Anise, Joe, Pete and Cassia; three step-great-grandsons, John, Peter, and Adam; and by many loving nieces and nephews.
Burial will follow at Nativity of Our Lord Cemetery.
Dorothy married Reiser, Max Berthold in 1937. Max (son of Reiser, Julius and Reiser, Wilhelmina) was born on 27 Aug 1913 in Poland; died on 25 Oct 1985 in Oneida county, Wisconsin, USA; was buried in 1985 in Rhinelander, Oneida, Wisconsin, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
