Notes: US Congressman. Born in Peterborough, New York, he moved with his parents to Wisconsin in 1857. There he graduated from the University of Wisconsin, in 1874, engaged in the lumber business, plus the manufacture of paper and was Mayor of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, (1894-95). In 1901, he was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-seventh, Fifty-eighth and Fifty-ninth Congresses, serving until 1907. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he resumed his former business and manufacturing pursuits in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. He died at age 78 while on a visit for medical treatment in Chicago, Illinois. Webster married Meyer, Juliet Delia in 1877.
