Three Lakes Genealogical Society Feb 24, 2020  Meeting Minutes
 
Members present:  Maureen Brand, Roger Blocks, Nancy Brewster, Bev Beyer, Marie Byatt, and new member  - John Ray 
Apologies from Les Anderson, the Baileys, and Mari Lynn Garbowicz

 
1:05 p.m. Nancy Brewster called the meeting to order and then invited members to share some information.
1:15 p.m. Ð Roger moved the minutes be accepted as read, Maureen seconded and it was accepted

Treasures Report prepared by Treasurer Noreen Rossa was accepted

OLD BUSINESS: 

1:20 - Community Outreach: 
Marie reported that Beth has developed a letter to send to the schools which is being done.  No responses yet.

Brick Walls Ð no members have submitted any brick walls for circulation.

NEW BUSINESS: 

1:25 - Discussion of how to read DNA relations chart sent with February Minutes.  Many Questions were answered.

1:40 - Nancy presented a Summary of the Surname/ethnicity sheets.  This will eventually appear on the website.  It appears that we have very little overlap between our members but we really have considerable diversity.

Nancy then passed around a tip sent in by Nancy Bailey about an article on searching Google Ð ÔTracing you Ancestors Using Google, Volume 2Õ   The book can be purchased at www.internet-genealogy.com  

Around 2:00 -we got into sharing.  This included Roger talking about the compendium he has put together on BarbÕs family and some interesting information about ÔhookersÕ  there was also discussion about how to get benefits from ÔsharedÕ trees

The meeting was adjourned about 3:00 PM
