Three Lakes Genealogical Society March, 2017

President Debby Selman called the meeting to order.

The minutes from January were approved.

Treasurer Robert Bailey reported. The report was approved. 

OPEN HOUSE 
Debby Selman and members agreed that the Open House held February 25 was a success despite the stormy weather. Members assisted six individuals in their search for family. Members were encouraged by the interest of the Three Lakes Junior High student who has previous research experience, and shows a high interest in continuing his research. 

Obituary Project 
The members mainly responsible for the Obituary Project (obituaries in the Three Lakes News) are Irene Farkas, Robert Bailey, Les Anderson, Debby Selman, June McDuffie, Noreen Rossa, Sue Henderson and Nancy Bailey. The years of 1980-2016 are complete on the website. Thank you.

Debby has completed posting the 2016 burials in the Three Lakes Cemetery on findagrave.com. When weather permits, photos will also be included. 

The Three Lakes Women's Club requested a presentation from the Three Lakes Genealogical Society. 
Nancy Brewster and Char Roberts have offered to present the program. 

Robert Bailey received from Inez Berg Three Lakes genealogical information about Cora Couey who lived on Stella Lake Road in Three Lakes. These materials may be included on a Story Board for the Historical Society, and stored in the History Room of the Demmer Library. 

Three new books on DNA testing are in the library. Find out what DNA means. 

Brick walls and successes were shared.
