Three Lakes Genealogical Society June 26, 2017 Members Present: Maureen Brand, Charlene Roberts, Nancy Bailey, Irene Farkas, Debby Selman, Robert Bailey, Les Anderson, Marie Byatt, Joyce Mogytych, Nancy Brewster, Carol Patterson, Noreen Rossa The meeting was called to order by President Debby Selman at 1:02 p.m. Each member was asked to introduce themselves and give their ancestry. Each member told what nationality they were researching. President Debby Selman told us of the passing of Member Bob Killick. He will be sadly missed by our membership. The minutes from our May 2017 meeting were approved. Treasurers Report: Treasurer Bob Bailey reported there was no activity. Old Business: Heritage Fest: Marie Byatt Reported that the festival was rained out and cancelled due to severe storms in our area. She said they were able to work with one person on his familyÕs history before shutdown. They sold one ÒGetting StartedÓ book. She said there were several interested people who could not receive attention before they were told to close down. Members in attendance felt that it could have been a success if continued and that it would be worthwhile to do it again next year. Thanks to all who volunteered. No other Old Business. New Business: Charlene Roberts asked if the Tree Leaves newsletter was received by all members. Response was: Yes. Marie Byatt reported that she is going to the International German Genealogy Partnership event in Minneapolis, MN. She will bring us a report and handouts for our next meeting. New Officer Election was discussed. We will be electing a new Vice President and a new Treasurer. Members were asked to come up with potential nominees for the next meeting. Nancy Brewster reported that she will purchase a book in memory of Bob Killick. This was approved by the membership. She will then notify his family of this procurement. The Title of the book is: Ultimate Search Book. Maureen Brand and Noreen Rossa shared their genealogy success stories. Bob and Nancy Baily told us of their recent genealogy related trip to New York and Michigan. Maureen mentioned that Bob KillickÕs family asked what should be done with his genealogical collection. After a brief discussion it was decided maybe we could get back to them with resolutions or ideas. The meeting was adjourned at 1:41 p.m. by President Debby Selman.
