Three Lakes Genealogical Society Minutes Ð23 March 2015 Members Present: Bob and Nancy Bailey, Roger Blocks, Nancy Brewster, Irene Farkas, Donna Mather, and Debby Selman Guest Present: Connie Lyons President Roger Blocks called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. Secretary Nancy Bailey presented the minutes from February 23, 2015. The minutes were approved as published. Treasurer Robert Bailey presented the TreasurerÕs Report. There was no activity in the financial account. The report was approved by the members. Old Business: ¥ We still need new brochures. Roger will check into it. ¥ Donna Mather thanked members for the cards sent to her husband. ¥ Publicity Ð There was a half-page spread in the March 11, 2105 edition of ÒThe Northwoods River NewsÓ (Rhinelander). Maureen Brand arranged for the article. ¥ Irene discussed the Obituary Project. We now have 2001-present. We might contact the WSGS to inform them about the project; WSGS might notify its members about this project. There are grants available. Irene will research them. ¥ There are surnames on the TLGS website that are outdated. The members decided to replace them with the current surname project. Bob Bailey will present the surname project to the Northern Waters Genealogical Society. Members may contact other groups; let Bob know. ¥ TLGS needs to update its email address. ¥ Programs April 27 Ð Dr. Steve Yahr will present the history of his ancestors going ÒwestÓ as well as give us a presentation of the ÒFab LabÓ at Three Lakes High School. Note: the time of the meeting will begin at 3:30 p.m. Further programs are TBA. One program will discuss the genealogy resources of Demmer Library. New Business: ¥ What brochures, etc. have we received from WSGS? Brick Walls and Successes Members discussed difficulties and successes in their research. One discussion involved what to do with ÒstuffÓ - including making arrangements for their care when we no longer will be using the Òstuff.Ó President Roger Blocks adjourned the meeting at 1:45.
