Three Lakes Genealogical Society Minutes Đ August 24, 2015 Members Present: Robert and Nancy Bailey, Marge Behling, Nancy Brewster, Maureen Brand, Marie Byatt, Irene Farkas, Barbara Hacker, Sue Henderson, June McDuffie, Charlene and John Roberts, and Noreen Rossa Ten guests were present. Vice-President Nancy Brewster called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. Secretary Nancy Bailey presented the minutes from July 27, 2015. The minutes were approved as printed. Treasurer Robert Bailey presented the TreasurerŐs Report. The report was filed. Charlene Roberts reported that WSGS has requested information regarding upcoming events and meetings. She also wants to include an article about the Obituary Project. Old Business discussed the FindaGrave project for the Three Lakes Library, and the Obituary project. New Business Ą Volunteers are needed for a nominating committee necessary to recruit officers for the two-year term beginning in October. All officers, except for the Secretary, are finishing the first year of their first term. The Secretary is completing her first full term in October. Ą Volunteers are needed for a program committee. Ą We need a new chairperson for the Sunshine Committee. Ą There is a Kentuckiana Family Research Conference in Louisville, KY on October 10, 2015 Brick Walls, etc. Ą Members discussed their genealogy endeavors. Ą There was a discussion about Familytree.org. Ą Members think Ancestry.com is improving, i.e. marriage records Ą Information about designing and maintaining your family website is needed. Ą HeritageQuest (available via your library card) has census information that links to maps. The next meeting will be at 1:00 p.m. on October 28. It will be in the Community Room of Demmer Library.
