Three Lakes Genealogical Society 

Minutes – 29 September 2014 

Members Present: Les Anderson, Bob and Nancy Bailey, Roger G. Blocks, Maureen Brand, Nancy Brewster, Irene Farkas, Barbara Hacker, Mary Hitchcock, Robert E. Killick, Donna Mather, Noreen Rossa, and Debby Selman 

Guest: Paul Wussow 

President Roger Blocks called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. 

Secretary Nancy Bailey presented the minutes, which were approved as presented. 
She also requested attendees sign the attendance list and review/correct information on the membership list. 

Treasurer Robert Bailey presented the Treasurer’s Report. He noted the report is meeting-to-meeting, not month-to-month. 
 
“Thank You” Letters were received from the Statue of Liberty Fund for our donation of $50, and the Three Lakes Library Building Fund for our donation of $100.00. 

The report was unanimously approved by the members. 


Old Business 

- Website 
Les Anderson stated there is a website version ready for upgrade. It is 2-3 pages. He showed the website to the members and asked for input. The members approved putting minutes on the site, but directed the minutes protect the members’ privacy. 

- Swing Board at the Three Lakes Historical Museum 
Donna Mather reported the swing board for Margaret Holtorp is finished and hanged. 

- Nancy Bailey reported the TLGS Society Program Binder has been updated. She requested more old programs. 

- PERSI 
Nancy Bailey distributed information for using PERSI from the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This site is available through “Heritage Quest” at a public library and/or online via a public library. 

- Combined Genealogy Presentation with Northern Waters Genealogical Society in 2015 
Mary Hitchcock has contacted Carol Williams to tell her we would not be cosponsors for the event due to the expense and distance. Mary did suggest we add Carol on our notification list. 

 

New Business - Binders 

Noreen Rossa brought binders for “recycling” by our members. 

The next meeting will be at 1:00 p.m., October 27, at the Demmer Public Library in Three Lakes, WI. The program will be a discussion of our members’ visit to Allen County Public Library in Indiana, and Beginning Excel. 

The meeting adjourned at 1:30. 

The program for today was “Preserving your Photos and Film.” Paul A. Wussow gave the presentation.
