Three Lakes Genealogical Society Minutes Ð July 22, 2013 Members Present: Les Anderson, Robert & Nancy Bailey, Marge Behling, Maureen Brand, Nancy Brewster, Marie Byatt, Sue Henderson, Irene Farkas, Mary Hitchcock, Robert Killick, Charlene Roberts, Noreen Rossa, Debby Selman, Gail Smith, Carol Stillwell, Colleen Thompsn Guests: Kathy Johnson, Kathy Klein, Gay Scheffin President Mary Hitchcock called the meeting to order. Copies of the June 24, 2013, Minutes were distributed & reviewed. Corrections in spelling were suggested and made. There was a motion to approve the minutes as amended, it was seconded and approved. Members received copies of the June 24, 2013 TreasurerÕs Report via email. There were no questions or discussion. TreasurerÕs Report was approved and accepted. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Heritagefest Ð Mary Hitchcock noted we helped more people this year, the event had better attendance than the initial year, and the Chamber of Commerce values our participation at this event. 2. Findagrave.com Ð Noreen Rossa distributed a draft copy of a suggested protocol for a proposed TLGS Standing Committee to follow when updating the Three Lakes Cemetery on the website or when handling requests to transfer a memorial or update memorial content. Please email suggestions to her at rvtumbleweed@gmail.com prior to next monthÕs meeting, so the group can approve a finalized protocol. 3. Bob Bailey held a Genealogy 101 class for the Demmer Library on June 17. Bob had 8 adults and a 10 yea r old attend the 1 hour session. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Charlene Roberts did a short presentation on the Demmer LibraryÕs plan for a $2.2 million renovation, as she attended a recent Community Presentation at the TL Center for the Arts by the Demmer Library Board President, Vicki Ruehling. In addition to Vicki, Janet Dixon(Library Director), representatives from First National Bank, and the architectural firm were available at the presentation . With the long history of the Demmer Library hosting the TLGS meetings, support of genealogical materials & research, Charlene suggested we make a financial contribution. Charlene made a motion that the TLGS donate $500 to the Demmer Library Building Fund in 2013, and pledge an additional $100 in each of the next 3 years( beginning with 2014), subject to being increased each July by the membership. Bob Bailey seconded the motion. The motion carried by unanimous approval. The Business meeting was adjourned.
